The Art of Pole Dance & Aerial Fitness: Combining Strength, Flexibility, and Self-Expression

Pole dance and Aerial Arts/Fitness are unique and exciting form of exercise that combine strength training, flexibility, and self-expression. At our Bundaberg Pole, Dance, Aerials and Fitness studio, we offer a wide range of classes for people of all levels, from beginner to advanced.

Pole and Aerials are not just about getting in shape and toning your body, but also about empowering yourself through movement and self-expression. Our classes are designed to help you not only improve your physical fitness but also to boost your confidence and self-esteem. The encouraging vibe in the studio is electric!

One of the things that sets our studio apart is the emphasis on your own self journey. We believe that everyone learns and develops different aspects of their fitness, dance ability, strength, goals and desires differently. We are all unique!  We encourage our students to let their creativity flow and express themselves through movement, to set their own goals that we can help them toward during our lessons, and to try not to fall into the dark habit of negatively comparing ourselves to others. We work hard to provide an encouraging, understanding, disciplined and motivating community for our students to be a part of.

We also understand that many people may have concerns about pole dance and aerial fitness specifically, such as fear of judgement or fear of injury. That’s why we make safety our top priority and our instructors are trained to provide modifications and adjustments, catering for students of all levels in our timetable, or even in private lessons, so everyone can feel comfortable and confident during their time in studio.

Our studio is more than just a place to workout, it’s a community of supportive and welcoming individuals who are passionate about their classes and each other. We offer a variety of classes throughout the week, making it easy for people to fit pole dance fitness into their busy schedules as well as offering private lessons and parties!

7 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Pole Dance

Whenever I mention pole dance, different people have very different ideas of what pole dance is. As a pole dance instructor here in Bundaberg, I’m making it my mission to share how incredible pole dance is for increasing fitness, strength and confidence!

I am surrounded with people in and around our studio who are crazy passionate.

  • Passionate about challenging and growing themselves
  • Passionate about helping and encouraging others
  • Passionate about our city and community
  • Passionate about staying fit & healthy
  • Passionate about having time to themselves (parents especially)

So here’s 7 things you probably didn’t know about pole dancing. If you’re curious, I encourage you to come try for yourself at The Neon Loft!

  1. Pole dance is NOT always explicit or sexual! Although, confidence is sexy for sure! Oh, and not all pole dancers are strippers…
  2. Clothes are slippery! Skin is required to effectively grip to the pole. As you get better, you need more grip points to be available = less clothing.
  3. Pole dance is incredible fitness and improves whole body strength, coordination and flexibility.
  4. There is NO age limit – Kids love classes, and it’s never too late to start having some fun!
  5. Yes! Guys can definitely do pole as well.
  6. Just like in real life, there is NO ideal body type – every body is a pole body!
  7. You will bruise. We call them “pole kisses”.
